How to Use AquaMeter
📤 Weekly Upload+
The Weekly Upload is your official tracking tool. Take or upload a photo of your water meter, and the app will automatically detect the reading. Review and edit it if needed, select the date, then tap Upload Weekly Reading. This reading is saved and used for billing and savings calculations.
👁️ Daily Check+
Use Daily Check for personal awareness only. Upload a meter photo to see your current reading and estimated usage — but nothing is saved. It won't affect your bill, history, or savings calculations.
📅 Monthly Cycle+
The app tracks a monthly cycle with 4 weekly readings. Weeks 1–3 are monitoring readings, and Week 4 is the Final Reading used to compute total consumption.
Monthly Usage = Final Reading − First Reading

💸 Billing Calculation+
Your estimated bill is computed as:
Bill = Monthly Usage × Tariff Rate + Base Charge
You can configure your tariff rate and provider in Settings. Default tariff is ₱25/m³.

💧 Savings Calculation+
Savings are calculated against your monthly limit:
Water Saved = Monthly Limit − Actual Usage
Money Saved = Water Saved × Tariff Rate
If you exceed the limit, savings will show zero.

Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is the auto-detection?+
The auto-detection estimates your reading based on previous data. Always verify the detected value against your physical meter before saving. You can edit the number in the input field at any time.
Can I edit a reading after uploading?+
At this time, saved readings cannot be edited. Please review carefully before tapping "Upload Weekly Reading." If you made a mistake, you can delete the entry from the History screen by tapping on it.
What does the monthly limit mean?+
The monthly limit is the maximum water consumption target per month. The default is 30 m³. You can change this in Settings to match your household's target or the limit set by your water provider.
Where is my data stored?+
All your data — account info, readings, and settings — is stored locally in your browser's storage. Clearing your browser data or cache will permanently delete all records. No data is sent to an external server.
Why don't I see savings yet?+
Savings are calculated based on your monthly readings. You need at least 2 weekly readings in the current month to see usage data. The more readings you log, the more accurate your billing and savings estimates become.
